Tri-State Industries logo

An innovator in the steel manufacturing industry, Tri-State Industries (TSI) is a leading contract manufacturer to large OEM’s in the rail car, construction, and mobile trailer industries across Indiana, Illinois and Wisconsin. Our lean manufacturing principles, JIT systems and strategic supplier partnerships lead us to be efficient in all our operations without sacrificing product quality.

Our history

As the steel manufacturing industry became more and more competitive, we had to examine all our capabilities to maintain high levels of productivity. With welding being a substantial part of the business, TSI began streamlining those projects by using advanced technology so processes could occur simultaneously. By automating our services as much as possible, we maximized productivity, increased accuracy and reduced costs.

TSI today

TSI continues to evolve, as the lessons we’ve learned have led us to understand the best combinations of technology and manufacturing that deliver quality products. TSI’s experience can serve your business by optimizing your processes so you can refocus on core competencies. In today’s markets, the most successful companies outsource inefficient processes that strain internal resources.

Our facilities

Our locations in Hammond, IN, with over 80,000 sq. ft. of manufacturing space, and Alexandria, LA, with 125,000 sq. ft. of fabricating and welding space, are able to meet all of your needs. We operate under a compliance to ISO9001:2008 Standard.

TSI’s services

  • Welding
  • Fabrication
  • Coating
  • Tooling
  • Assembly

Tri-State Industries (TSI) realized many companies were encountering similar challenges in implementing automation. With so many valuable lessons learned on the journey, TSI established sister company Tri-State Automation (TSA) in 2009 to help businesses succeed in their conversion to automation.

The TSA difference

TSA is a full-service integrator of robotic welding and material handling automation. What separates us from the rest is our ability to draw upon TSI’s decades of experience in advanced manufacturing and combine it with our automation knowledge. Metal fabricators in Indiana, Illinois and Wisconsin partner with TSA because we offer local installation, onsite training and superior after-sale service that lead to gains in productivity, performance and cost savings.

TSA services

  • High-performing turnkey robotic welding and material handling systems
  • Integration tool and robotic fixture fabrication
  • Engineering and manufacturing feasibility studies
  • Robot programming and field service
  • New and used robots, as well as parts
  • Standard and custom weld applications in carbon steel, stainless steel and aluminium, including thin wall (.060) aluminium tubing

TSA works with Yaskawa Motoman, FANUC, and OTC-DAIHEN robots as well as welding equipment from Fronius, Lincoln Electric, and Miller Electric.
